This panel should primarily focus on the principal differences between the undergoing German energy transition based on renewables and improved energy efficiency (Energiewende) and the Czech government’s path to becoming a nuclear island in the heart of Europe and the consequenses of both concepts for energy http://www.viagrabelgiquefr.com/ policy on the EU level. Which of these visions can prove to be economically and environmentally viable for a sustainable future? And are there any one-size-fits-all solutions? Further, the debate should touch upon the topic of possible EU coordination of member states’ energy policies, the present available mechanisms and the obstacles to creating a common European energy policy. Finally, the continuation of the 20-20-20 EU climate and energy package should be discussed.
